Allsvenskan BTTS Stats: Which Swedish Clubs See Both Teams Score?
I went through 3,088 Allsvenskan matches to see how often both teams score, which clubs push the rate up and which quietly drag it down.

Casual bettors tend to treat Allsvenskan as a goals league, and BTTS Yes often becomes the default click. I wanted to know whether that holds up. I went through 3,088 league matches from 2012–2024 and asked two questions: how often does each side find the net, and whose games break the pattern?
The headline answer is that both teams scored in 54.5% of matches, which puts fair BTTS Yes odds at 1.83 and BTTS No at 2.20. That is a lean towards Yes rather than a stampede. The club spread runs from Helsingborg at 61.7% down to Östersund at 48.3%. If you only want the selections, my free BTTS picks live on their own page, and this study is the reasoning underneath them.
Chapter 1Helsingborg and Norrköping games sit well above the league norm
The bars rank every club with 100+ Allsvenskan matches by how often both sides scored in their games, home and away combined. Helsingborg top it at 61.7% over 240 games, a fair price of 1.62, with Norrköping (61.1%) and Häcken (58.3%) close behind. At the other end, Östersund games landed BTTS in just 48.3% of 180 matches, fair odds 2.07, with AIK (49.0%) and Djurgården (50.3%) next.
What strikes me is how tight the range is. Every club sits in a fairly narrow band either side of the 54.5% average, so a club label nudges a fair price rather than rewriting it.
League average 54.5% across 3,088 matches (fair odds 1.83); BTTS No 45.5% (fair odds 2.20).

| Clubs with 100+ league matches (top 8 and bottom 8) | |
|---|---|
| Helsingborg | 61.7% |
| Norrköping | 61.1% |
| Häcken | 58.3% |
| Örebro | 58.1% |
| Hammarby | 58.1% |
| GIF Sundsvall | 57.6% |
| Elfsborg | 57.3% |
| Gefle | 55.3% |
| Varberg | 52.5% |
| Kalmar | 51.8% |
| Malmö FF | 51.8% |
| Mjällby | 51.7% |
| Halmstad | 50.5% |
| Djurgården | 50.3% |
| AIK | 49.0% |
| Östersund | 48.3% |
These figures blend many seasons, squads and managers. A club's long-run number describes its history in the league, and the side on the pitch this year can be a very different animal.
Chapter 2Several clubs swing sharply between home and away BTTS rates
This table splits each club's BTTS rate by venue. League-wide, home sides scored in 77.8% of matches and away sides in 70.0%, so you might expect most clubs' home games to be busier at both ends. Hammarby fit that neatly, with 62.8% at home against 53.4% away, a gap of +9.4.
Others run the other way. Gefle's home games landed BTTS in 49.3% of matches but their away games in 61.3%, a −12.0 gap. AIK, the best-known low-BTTS name here, sit at 45.1% at home and 52.8% away. Norrköping and Djurgården show no gap at all, at 61.1% and 50.3% both ways.
| Club | Matches | Home BTTS | Away BTTS | Gap | Fair odds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Helsingborg | 240 | 58.3% | 65.0% | −6.7 | 1.62 |
| Norrköping | 386 | 61.1% | 61.1% | 0.0 | 1.64 |
| Häcken | 386 | 61.1% | 55.4% | +5.7 | 1.72 |
| Örebro | 270 | 61.5% | 54.8% | +6.7 | 1.72 |
| Hammarby | 296 | 62.8% | 53.4% | +9.4 | 1.72 |
| GIF Sundsvall | 210 | 58.1% | 57.1% | +1.0 | 1.74 |
| Elfsborg | 386 | 53.4% | 61.1% | −7.7 | 1.75 |
| Gefle | 150 | 49.3% | 61.3% | −12.0 | 1.81 |
| Varberg | 120 | 50.0% | 55.0% | −5.0 | 1.90 |
| Kalmar | 386 | 50.8% | 52.8% | −2.0 | 1.93 |
| Malmö FF | 386 | 49.2% | 54.4% | −5.2 | 1.93 |
| Mjällby | 236 | 54.2% | 49.2% | +5.0 | 1.93 |
| Halmstad | 206 | 46.6% | 54.4% | −7.8 | 1.98 |
| Djurgården | 386 | 50.3% | 50.3% | 0.0 | 1.99 |
| AIK | 386 | 45.1% | 52.8% | −7.7 | 2.04 |
| Östersund | 180 | 51.1% | 45.6% | +5.5 | 2.07 |
League-wide, home sides scored in 77.8% of matches and away sides in 70.0%.
For me, this is the most useful table in the study. A blended club rate hides a lot, and pricing an AIK home game off their 2.04 overall figure would undersell the No side.
Chapter 3Malmö FF score almost always but rarely concede, which suppresses BTTS
BTTS needs two things, so this chart separates them: how often each of the ten most-played clubs scored, and how often they conceded. Malmö FF are the outlier in both directions, scoring in 87.6% of 386 games and conceding in only 58.5%. That clean-sheet habit is why a dominant attacking side ends up in the bottom half of the BTTS ranking.
Örebro are the mirror image. They conceded in 83.3% of their 270 games, the most in this group. That leaky defence pulled plenty of their matches into BTTS territory even when their own attack was quieter.
View the data: how often each club scores and concedes
| Scored in | Conceded in | |
|---|---|---|
| Norrköping (386 games) | 81.9% | 75.1% |
| Häcken (386 games) | 79.3% | 73.3% |
| Örebro (270 games) | 68.1% | 83.3% |
| Hammarby (296 games) | 77.4% | 72.6% |
| Elfsborg (386 games) | 80.1% | 71.0% |
| IFK Göteborg (386 games) | 76.2% | 72.0% |
| Kalmar (386 games) | 70.2% | 75.1% |
| Malmö FF (386 games) | 87.6% | 58.5% |
| Djurgården (386 games) | 78.5% | 66.6% |
| AIK (386 games) | 79.3% | 61.7% |
The lesson I take is that a low BTTS rate doesn't mean dull football. Usually it means one side keeps shutting the other out, which makes it a defensive story more than an attacking one.
Chapter 4The league's BTTS rate has cooled since its 2016 peak
The line tracks the share of matches with both teams scoring in each season. The high point was 60.4% in 2016 and the low was 50.0% in 2023. The opening season in the records ran at 55.8%, and the incomplete 2024 sits at 53.8%.
Since 2018, most seasons have landed below the long-run 54.5%, which matters if you lean on the all-time figure. The ±1.8 points range on the overall rate covers sampling noise in the full dataset. It doesn't cover a league whose character drifts over time.
Matches per season: 208–240. *2024 incomplete in the records.

I'd treat 1.83 as a starting point, then check how the current campaign is running before trusting it.
Before you bet in this league
- Start at 1.83Across 3,088 matches BTTS Yes landed 54.5% of the time, so 1.83 is the break-even benchmark with no margin. Any price shorter than that needs a reason specific to the match.
- Split by venueClub figures can hide double-digit swings, like Gefle's −12.0 gap between home and away. Judge home and away games separately rather than using one blended rate.
- Check the clean-sheet sideTeams like Malmö FF, who conceded in only 58.5% of games, pull BTTS down even while scoring freely. Compare a price with the stronger defence's record, not just with the two attacks.
